How can we look at the world difference? Would we appreciate our surrounds more if we had to look harder?
Electronics were the starting point of this project. Many iterations were made to the coding to get the correct program running on the Raspberry Pi. Playing around with camera component; lens, buttons and settings to get the best working parts was an important job.
The manufacturing of the camera took time to get the parts just how I wanted them. I hadn’t worked with metal or silicone before, so it was a learning curb. Experiments were done on the silicone to get the desired colour and texture. The metal work was all tested the foam first so just had to be replicated.
The camera connects to the app allowing for the user to interact with the camera. Once connected you have access to photos taken and ones that are still developing. Camera settings can be altered, and battery status checked.
Packaging was simple, clearly laying out everything the user needs. The packaging contains; camera, lens cap, strap and charging cable.
A selection of photos taken on Focus over the course of my major project.
The outcome of this project allowed the user to enjoy being outdoors and not be consumed by sharing the moment on social media. Focus meant the user could take a photo but had to obverse their surroundings first.
